Why does ILUC ask for donations?

We provide Indigenous Led Unlearning Conversations free of charge to those who attend, which means we depend on the generosity of those who find value in this project to fund our basic expenses of having our own Zoom account & website. We do not ask our invited guest Relations to share their stories & wisdom without reciprocating with an honorarium.

Our facilitators need to be fairly compensated for the physical & emotional labour that goes into each and every Unlearning Conversation and all the work that happens behind the scenes and in promoting our programs.

What do my donations support?

How can I donate to support Indigenous Led Unlearning Conversations?

Why does my donation go to a Unitarian Universalist fellowship?

Indigenous Led Unlearning Conversations began as Unlearning Sessions, part of the Indigenous Educational Series at Palomar UU Fellowship (PUUF) in Vista, CA, where Sam is a member. PUUF is our fiscal sponsor.

What do my donations cover?

Unlearning Convos provides honorariums to our Indigenous relatives who participate in our Convos. We believe in compensating Indigenous folx for their emotional labour of guiding these conversations. Our co-facilitators donate many hours of unpaid physical & emotional labour maintaining our website, social media, scheduling, and facilitating our Unlearning Conversations. Currently, they also pay out of pocket for the technological needs of the project.

What are other ways to support Indigenous Led Unlearning Conversations?
