Components of an
Indigenous Led Unlearning
Workshop Weekend
for UU congregations

Preparation ($325 an hour, minimum 2 hours $650)

1. Our co-facilitators will meet with your worship planning/8th Principle/JTW/ or other teams (the Planning Circle) regarding the topic of a Saturday Indigenous Led Unlearning Conversation (ILUC) & the accompanying Indigenized service

2. There shall be at least one virtual meeting with all necessary individuals

3. A detailed document of protocols and responsibilities will be co-created during this meeting, which shall be edited and revised asynchronously until the terms are agreed upon  

4. All members of this Planning Circle shall be included in all electronic communication 

Promotional Material (included in honorarium for tech)

1. Our tech person and members of the congregation responsible for promoting workshops shall work together to create and distribute

   • Promotional videos

   • Registration forms & encouraging congregants to register

   • Other promotional material as needed

2. The congregation will utilize their social media to share and boost our social media posts around the workshop

Saturday ILUC ($1,050 ~ $1,250)

1. Our honorariums are 

   • $250 per co-facilitator ($750)

     1. • $250 Honorarium for Sam Beltram will be donated & cut in 3 donation checks like this

          1. • 50% of $250 = $125 (Memo line: IES- for ILUC)

             • 25% of $250 = $62.50 (Memo line: IES- for AIET&D)

             • 25% of $250 = $62.50 (this will go to a local Indigenous organization)

2. $300 for our tech

3. Possible additional $200 for invited Indigenous guests

To be accessible to smaller congregations, we are open to discussing a reasonable donation and/or plate share if our fee structure is out of the budget range. We also encourage clusters to collaborate or smaller congregations to join together to share the expense of our workshops. 

Sunday Indigenized service ($1390 - $1480)

1. Indigenous Musicians & Singers  

   • Traditional Welcome Song $150

   • Guest Song Leader $150 

   • Guest Musicians $200

2. Indigenous Time for All Ages $150

3. Sermon $410-$500

   • Geo Index ($315 - $385) 

   • + 30% Reparation fee ($410 - $500)

4. Post service 2-hour virtual Decolonizing Discussion $330

   • Each service will include a set of Reflection Questions to be discussed in an afternoon Decolonizing Discussion

   • Kia shall facilitate these Decolonizing Discussions 

Debrief ($325 an hour)

• The Planning Circle will meet to debrief the weekend workshop

• There shall be at least one virtual meeting with all necessary individuals
